E.S.P. (Panopticon)
Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia was conceived as a place where prisoners would be moved to penitence through perpetual isolation. It was physically designed as a kind of panopticon wherein cell blocks would be under constant surveillance. After its closure in 1971 it was kept in "preserved ruin" and since 1994 has been maintained as an historical museum aimed at furthering discussion about criminal justice.
